This month, Evos welcomed suppliers to its first-ever Supplier Day, organised by our procurement team.
Throughout the day, one message stood out. In a world defined by energy security concerns, regulatory change and the evolving energy transition, resilience is built together through strong partnerships, shared standards and open communication.
Opening the event, CEO Daan Vos reflected on Evos long-term strategy and the importance of strong partnerships in a rapidly changing world, where safety remains non-negotiable under all circumstances.
Anicar Brus Ramos, Group Procurement Manager, captured the ambition behind the day: “The best partners we have are the ones we can work with when things go wrong.” She also looked ahead to how Evos sees supplier relationships evolving: “This may not be called Supplier Day next time, but Partner Day.”
The same principle also underlies Evos approach to responsible procurement. As regulatory, sustainability and security expectations grow, procurement plays an increasingly important role in protecting integrity across the value chain: from supplier due diligence and cyber security requirements to stronger expectations around transparency, ethical labour practices and long-term collaboration.
Anne Hendrikson, Group HSSEQ Manager, emphasised the importance of aligned behaviours: “Safety is not limited to one organisation or one team. Safety is created in everything we do together.”
That message carried through into cyber security, where Sebastian Palandt, Group Manager Cyber Security, stressed that resilience depends just as much on early transparency and communication: “Please inform us about everything you know. From there, we can decide together how best to respond.”
Michael Lübke, Group Operations Manager, introduced to our partners the Evos operational excellence programme Pit Stop, designed to improve efficiency and advance continuous improvement over time. The programme has been developed by and for operational functions in our organisation, including technical, customer service, commercial and HSSEQ teams, with the aim of helping to secure a sustainable future for us all. In other words, it is built by operations, for operations. As Michael explained: “It is not about winning a single race. It is about winning the championship.”
